with common commitment to global education, to strengthen cultural ties, and to broaden the experience and horizons of students, School of Civil Engineering (SCE), Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), China will host an international summer camp in July, 2012. Participants from different cultures will gather together here; exotic oriental culture is waiting for you; academic lectures will be delivered by prestigious professors. Students majoring in civil engineering and related disciplines will be warmly welcomed. The purpose of this camp is to further mutual understanding, learn about the Engineering Schools of BJTU and Chinese culture.
School of Civil Engineering has organized International Summer Camp for the first time in 2012, over 30 students, and 5 faculty from University of Nevada at Reno, Newcastle University, Taiwai National University of Science andTechnology, and Politech di Milano participated in the program.
From August 5 till 16, 2013, School of Civil Engineering oragnized 2013 Summer Camp in Beijing. 30
students, and 3 faculty from overseas partner universities joined the program. A variety of activities
were arranged during two weeks, including academic lectures, sightseeing, visiting labs and construction
site, and cultural classes.
In May of each year, application procedure will start.

The second International Summer Camp caught much attention among the students from both China and abroad. 30 international students and 58 Chinese students joined the program, which is larger in scale than the fist camp. It gained more credits and was highly praised by participants from partner universities. They share their experience with friends on university websites. The first International Summer Camp was held from July 1st to July 14th,2012. The room 702 witnessed the closing ceremony, where Prof. Yang Qing, Vice President of School of Civil Engineering awarded certificates to the participants. During the program, the participants were divided into five groups and each group had a name. Group one was called “叫我第一名”， group two “Six Kittens”, group three “Griffins”, group four “4 Got”, and group five “Awesome Possom Sauce”. Each group made a journal report, which covered all the activities within two days. Group 5 “Griffins” was awarded the “Honor Group” by a narrow margin of one vote. Participants of the second International Summer Camp contributed much to this program and learned a lot from it. Academic lectures were given to participants.
